Ten more foresters trained on UAV operations

Recognizing the applicability of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drones) in sustainable forest management particularly but not restricted to conservation and monitoring aspects, ten more foresters were trained on its basic operation and flying. The participants included officials of Forest Protection & Enforcement Division (FPED) & Forest Resources Management Division (FRMD).

The theoretical part was conducted at FRMD conference hall in the morning and the hands-on done at Namseling in the afternoon. The training included not just flying the drone but also recording of its multispectral images and videos. The AEROTECH Bhutan, a private company imparted the training for free. Necessary approvals were sought formally from relevant agencies.
