The Department of Forest and Park Services, under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, is pleased to notify the revision of the “fishing” provision in the Forests and Nature Conservation Rules and Regulations (Amendment) 2022. This includes provisions for recreational fishing in two categories of water: Mahseer water and trout water. This is to diversify nature-based tourism, promote conservation through sustainable practices, provide an exclusive fishing experience to international tourists and reduce pressure on natural resources.
The notification have been issued vide letter no. DoFPS/NCD/NRES-01/2022-23/0207 dated 3/02/2023.
